A Maudiae-type hybrid
I purchased this Paph. hybrid from a gift shop. Without the confirmation of a plant tag, this cultivar, to my best guess, is a "flame", which loosely defined the Maudiae-type hybrids with Paph. viniferum in their genetic backgrounds. In addition to its dark wine colored bloom, translucent patches on the dorsal sepal, and the fused warts on the petals, the pictured clone has prominent red splashes on the mottled leaves at the base of the plant. Most of the modern vini-type hybrids were the descendants of Paph. Maudiae 'Ebony Queen' FCC/AOS (Paph. callosum x Paph. lawrenceanum). The vinis have a breeding behavior unlike the flames.
