Daylilies (Firelighter, Rough and Tough, and a seedling)

Daylily Firelighter (Matthew Kaskel x Mark Alan Carpenter), F. Smith (2009). To great me this morning is a large (6.5"), bright orange bloom from Firelighter. Beautifully shaped with ruffled edge- love it! This is a garden treasure! I love Frank Smith daylilies (and paphiopedilums too)!

Daylily Rough and Tough (Beauty of the King x Carpenter sdlg. T-51), M. Carpenter (2008). Purple-red bloom with a lavender-grey watermark, thin gold edge surrounding the petals-wonderful!

This is the first bloom of about a dozen seedlings from Good Save the Queen. Like the watermark. The bloom has good size (6.5"), heavy substance. The color is typical for many daylilies, the pattern is fairly common- but a good garden plant nonetheless.
