Dracula bella is a beautiful epiphytic orchid species from Colombia, discovered in 1878 by Gustav Wallis, a German plant collector. Gustav has introduced over 1,000 plants to Europe, including many species of
Masdevallia from Columbia,
Cattleya from the Amazon, and
Phalaenopsis and
Paphiopedilum from the Philippines.
There are more reds on
Dracula bella than being pictured! I grow several Dracula species under intermediate conditions.
